Transaction summary & highlights

Datacenter One GmbH (“Datacenter One”), a portfolio company of Star Capital, has sold German based Globalways GmbH (“Globalways”) to Relined Fiber Network GmbH (“Relined”), a subsidiary of Netherlands based transmission system operator TenneT.

The acquisition will enable Relined to further expand its German footprint, complement its current service offering and strengthen its existing German fibre optic engagement by adding Globalways’ state-of-the-art metro-network and highly attractive B2B client base in the Stuttgart metropolitan area.

HHP provided full sell-side advise to management and shareholders of Globalways in a competitive, two stage auction process, achieving a successful outcome for the sellers despite the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

This marks the second sell-side transaction in the fibre optic infrastructure space HHP advised on in 2020, after already advising on the sale of Northern Access to DBAG, and is a testament of HHP’s strong knowledge and relationships in this space.
