Funds advised by Deutsche Beteiligungs AG (“DBAG”) have acquired Northern Access GmbH (“Northern Access”) in a move to develop a new fibre-based internet carrier group in rural areas of Lower Saxony, Germany. Northern Access will form the nucleus of this envisaged group. The sellers of Northern Access will continue to assist the operating team for a transitional period and support the new owner in entering an accelerated growth phase.
HHP provided full sell-side advisory services to the owners of Northern Access in a competitive, two stage auction process and achieved a highly successful outcome for the sellers despite the Covid-19 pandemic starting during the process.

Northern Access
Founded in 2010 and based in Liebenau, Lower Saxony, Germany, Northern Access provides internet and telephone services to c.6,000 B2B and B2C clients in mostly rural areas of Lower Saxony.
Since inception, it very successfully developed a strong fibre footprint in its core region while continuously expanding its reach through significant investments in line with the German government initiative to cover “white internet spots”.
